Chordly Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Chordly iPhone app (“Chordly”, “we”) collects, why, and the choices you have. Chordly is provided by Techtactoe. Contact: techtactoeappstudio@gmail.com.

1. Microphone and audio

Chordly uses the microphone to analyse the chords you play and for the tuner. This analysis runs on your iPhone. Your practice audio is not uploaded and not stored by us.

Optional live voice coach (Pro). If this feature is available and you turn it on, you are asked for consent before the first session. During a coaching session, the microphone audio of that session is sent to OpenAI to generate the coach’s spoken reply. It is not used by us for any other purpose, and you can stop at any time.

Chordly never uses the camera. iOS shows a camera notice only because an included audio-calling library can reference it; the camera is never turned on.

2. Account

An anonymous account is created automatically (Google Firebase Authentication), so you can use Chordly without an email or password. You may optionally link Sign in with Apple to keep your progress across devices; we then receive only what Apple shares with us (which may be a private relay email address).

3. Data we store

• Learning progress: XP, streak, skill score and completed lessons.
• Practice session summaries: which lesson and chord, how many strums were clean, and when.
• Onboarding answers you give: instrument, experience level, goal, daily practice time and favourite styles.
• App settings, such as your reminder time and notification choices.

This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore (Firebase) and linked to your anonymous account ID.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, receives your purchase and entitlement status linked to your anonymous app user ID. We never receive your payment card details.

5. Analytics and diagnostics

We use Firebase Analytics (how features are used), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Firebase Performance Monitoring to fix problems and improve the app. We do not show ads, do not sell your data and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

6. Notifications

Only if you allow them. We then store a push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Practice reminders and promotional offers are two separate choices in Settings, and you can change either at any time.

7. App integrity

We use Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest to help ensure requests come from the genuine app.

8. Content delivery

Backing tracks and coach videos are streamed from our Firebase Hosting website. As with any website, standard server logs (such as IP address and time) are processed by Google.

9. Service providers

Google (Firebase: authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, performance, messaging, hosting, App Check), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Apple (payments, Sign in with Apple) and, only for the optional live voice coach, OpenAI. They process data on our behalf under their own terms and safeguards and may process it outside your country.

10. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete everything in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your stored data and your account. You can also ask us by email.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, KVKK or CCPA) you may request access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your data, or object to its processing. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

12. Children

Chordly is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

13. Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above.
